Summer is upon us, the world is re-opening in all its wondrous glory, and Dads everywhere are ready to bust out like the Kool-Aid Man in celebration of Father's Day this year.
If the Dad(s) in your life are channeling their inner Braveheart and screaming "FREEEEDOMMM!" then sit back and let 4Squares offer some ways to celebrate Papa beyond the traditional backyard barbeque.
BBQ & Blue Grass at Powisset Farm
If Daddy-O's re-entry bucket list includes an outdoor concert, then sign him and the family up for an afternoon that hits all of his sweet spots: Barbeque, Blue Grass, and Beer!
Pops can plop down at a picnic table to chow down on authentic Blue Ribbon Barbeque, sip a cold brewski and listen to live bluegrass music. Kids will enjoy lawn games and visits with barnyard animals, and mom can enjoy a glass of wine (yes, they've thought of everyone!) while sitting in her favorite lawn chair.
Ticket price includes barbecue, sides, and non-alcoholic beverages. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. For COVID-19 protocol updates and to order tickets, visit the event website.

The Kowloon Restaurant
Dads are often the larger-than-life figures in our lives, so why not take him to a location as equally iconic -- The Kowloon Restaurant! A sprawling landmark on Route 1 since 1950, Kowloon is the perfect location if Asian Food is Dad's guilty pleasure.
Menu options range from Szechuan and Cantonese to Thai and Japanese cuisine; all served among several themed rooms like the Luau Room with its red lanterns, the Tiki Lagoon Room with (literally!) a mini-lagoon, and the 4Squares Favorite: The Big Boat in the Volcano Bay Room!
Continue the fun in the Kowloon Komedy Klub! Check out the Kowloon Kalendar for the latest acts and showtimes. And before you leave, be sure to stop by the galleries of celebrities who've visited the Kowloon, from Hulk Hogan of WWF fame to Boston Red Sox icon Johnny Pesky and Adam Vinatieri of the Pats!
Kowloon 948 Broadway, Saugus, MA 01906; 781-233-0077; Reservations recommended. Take-out is also available.
Mendon Twin Drive-In
Turbo-charge Family Movie Night and roll on into the Mendon Twin Drive-In, one of America's most beloved drive-in movie theaters. The Drive-In features two first-run family-friendly movies on two giant screens in digital video and audio broadcast over your car radio, just like "in the good ol' days" that Dad (and maybe grandpa) remember.
Of course, movie night requires snacks! Swing by Judi's Snack Shack for fresh-popped popcorn and the signature fried dough, or make it Ice Cream for Dinner Night at Ernie's Ice Cream and indulge in soft-serve cups, cones, and sundaes.
The 4Squares Favorite? Pop's Beer Garden, where Dad can enjoy one of the six draft beers on tap while you all make s'mores around the fire pit with a view of Screen One.
Mendon Twin Drive-In 35 Milford Street, Mendon, MA 01756; Movies announced each Tuesday for the following weekend. Check the website for pricing and COVID-19 guidelines.
