Concerts at the Condon Shell | Fab4 Summer 2023

Updated: Jul 5, 2023

What's more fabulous than New England's outdoor music season? This summer, the Medford Farmer's Market is hosting a series of four nights of music at the Condon Band Shell, next to the Mystic River.

All shows start at 6:30 and are free and appropriate for all ages. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, pack a picnic dinner, and enjoy great live music! Put the dates on your summer calendar!! All band info below comes from the city's Facebook events for the series.

Thursday, June 29 | Annie and the Fur Trappers

Annie and the Fur Trappers are a Boston-based traditional jazz and blues band. The band was founded in 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri, and features clarinet, trumpet, trombone, bass, banjo, guitar, and washboard. Annie and the Fur Trappers is dedicated to performing and preserving the traditional jazz, delta blues, ragtime, and swing music of the 1920s and 30s.

Thursday, July 20 | Say Darling

“...a brutal force of badass bluesy goodness intertwined with jazzy licks and a swing backing that will get you moving, shaking and shatter all your reservations about getting down…”

— Red Line Roots

Thursday, Aug 10 | Lookie, Lookie

"Lookie Lookie plays Bugalú, Latin music created by Puerto Rican New Yorkers in the 1960's, combining Cuban mambo with a touch of US soul and pop. It is truly the mother lode of fun, great for listening and any kind of dancing – no salsa skills required. Lookie Lookie features top musicians of the Boston Latin, jazz and rock scenes, from the Either/Orchestra, Bim Skala Bim, the Alloy Orchestra, Ten Tumbao, Raíz de Plena and Club D'Elf."

Thursday, Aug 31 | Tim Gearan Band

"A beloved fixture in the Boston music scene for more than 25 years, Tim Gearan has become a bonafide local music hero. His warm, raspy baritone, jaw-dropping guitar skills and wry, poignant songwriting have graced the bars, pubs, and music halls throughout New England and beyond, creating a loyal cult-like following."

The Summer Concerts at the Condon Shell are funded by the City of Medford with a little sponsorship help from 4Squares - for those of you who know us, you know my husband and I are life-long musicians and big live music fans!! We'll see you there!!

This year, we'll be sharing local recs from the 4Squares staff - Abby, Judi 411 and of course Jen - for all seasons, and from all the towns & cities we love in the greater Boston area. So every month, look for our top 4 - this month it's four local bands to look out for this summer!!

Showcasing the best of the Boston-area is one of our favorite ways to help our readers (and clients!) love the way they live in Medford and beyond. Drop us a note at Jen@4SquaresRE.com and tell us about your local faves!
