This fall, I'll be hosting an informal workshop on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) - with key information to consider when planning, building and renting out an ADU in Medford.
The workshop is 6:30 PM on Tuesday, October 6 in the Bonsignore Room, upstairs at the Medford Public Library. I'll have Kevin Greeley, a Senior Loan Officer at Leader Bank with me, to discuss some of the financing options available. I've also checked in with the Medford Building Department, and they've shared some info that I'll be able to pass on to you.
If you don't know already, last year Massachusetts passed some very broad state laws allowing ADUs to be built "by right" on single-family properties - so this a new opportunity for property owners that we will all want to keep an eye on!
