This month we are featuring Medford Square – the pulse of Medford. Again, I’m a little biased here on how great the square is. While I grew up in a suburb farther from Medford, my Dad owned a gas station/service station just outside of Medford Square
while I was growing up. I would go to work with him on Saturdays and help him by pumping gas (I’m sure this was completely legal back in the early 80’s for an 11/12 year old to be pumping gas and taking carbon copies of customers credit cards…LOL). But
the best part of my day was getting to go to lunch with my Dad in Medford Square.
The restaurants we frequented back then are long gone, but there are some great places to eat there now! Some favorites include Tenoch Mexican, Mystic Coffee Roasters (great bagels!), and Blue Fuji – by far the best Asian food in town. If you are craving
something sweet head over to Colleen’s for ice cream or Modern Pastry for a cannoli.
And if you need to burn off all of those food calories, there is no shortage of places to workout in Medford Square. We have a kickboxing/martial arts studio at Xtreme Ninja fitness and a brand new barre studio The Energy Barre. Need to slow it down a
bit? Check out square staple, Borealis Yoga, offering yoga classes and meditation workshops.
Lastly, Medford Square would not be complete without our shining star – the Chevalier Theatre. This 1900 seat theatre is a historic icon in the square, and with a new management company we are seeing more and more fantastic shows on the schedule for 2019
